Pioneer Day

Our impromptu Roger Call Family Reunion just so happened to fall over the 24th of July weekend.  Which was awesome!  In true Call fashion, we celebrated at the school with swimming and a cookout. :)

There's something everyone knows about the Call brothers.  They are nothing if not competitive!  Mostly lovingly so...mostly. :)  So it only took about five minutes flat before they were in the middle of an epic cannonball competition.

And then it was a "Who Can Toss Their Kid Higher" competition.

Our kids weren't so much for that game.  They just like the calm of the pool on a summer day.  They get that from their Mama. :)

But the fun wasn't restricted to the pool!  The kids had fun running all around the school, and playing with the various activities.

And Luke enjoyed all the cuddle time he could handle. :)

The neatest attraction had to be the bouncy house, though...thanks to Uncle Robbie!  The kids thought they had died and gone to heaven.  An actual bouncy house at the school, just for them!  And some of the biggest kids were stoked that there were no size restrictions. :)

Luke especially loved the bouncy house.  We were still having so much fun watching Luke discover the world, and experience all the fun things that kids get to do.  We were grateful for another set of memories, and another awesome day with our Lukey-Son.

And we are so grateful for the pioneers and all that they have taught us.  During this trial with Luke's health, I have thought oftentimes of the early Saints, and all they had to endure.  But more than what they endured, I have been uplifted by how they endured.  I will be forever grateful for their legacy, and I hope I can endure what the Lord has prepared for me with the faith and conviction of those wonderful pioneers.

Come, Come Ye Saints,
no toil nor labor fear;
But with joy wend your way.
Though hard to you this journey may appear
Grace shall be as your day.
'Tis better far for us to strive
Our useless cares from us to drive;
Do this, and joy your hearts will swell--
All is well!
ALL IS WELL!
