October iMoments

Johnny's favorite thing to read is "Meewho with an Exactlywatt". I love our story time together in the afternoons.

These two just make me smile. They love each other so much!

Joey learned to tripod sit like a boss! Honestly, he's probably been able to do it for a while, but it only now occurred to me that he's old enough to do it. I'm in completely denial that he's growing up!

The pumpkin patch yielded some pretty awesome pumpkins! The lumina whites and the blue moon and blue jarradale varieties did the best...but the fairy tales were everyone's favorite. Unfortunately we only got a few of those. We'll have to plant more next year!

We finished 3rd and 4th Nephi, and celebrated with root beer floats. So far we haven't missed a single day of reading!

Danny's hobby of smoking meat has become a family affair. :)

Sophie has such a great group of friends. There are so many girls in the ward and neighborhood that are her age...and 3 of them got baptized on the same day as her! The primary room as sparkling white with all these girls in their beautiful baptism dresses!

Half a year already passed us! Time is going by so quickly!

Seriously, this face tho.

BYU vs Mississippi State was Claire's game this year!

It was homecoming night, and the weather was gorgeous.

It's so fun that these games are such an event for the family. What treasured memories these will be!

And we won!! Go Cougs!

Joseph got his second hair cut, and he looks like such a stud! I'm realizing, though, that I'm out of my depth with all this cowlicks. I need some training on how to cut his hair better!

We finished Mormon! Raspberry-filled donuts for the treat...Johnny had just dropped his on the floor and just couldn't pull himself together for a photo. Still haven't missed a day of reading. The streak lives!

During my baby shower for Joey, I received these cute dino jammies. They immediately reminded me of Lukey's slippers that he wore all the time. It made me so happy to see Joey channeling his big brother, just like a little brother should. :)

Hair cuts in time for family pictures! We love our hair girl, Breanne. She does such an awesome job. Except the girls get older and prettier every time we go there!

Papa took Claire, Sophie, and Johnny to see the Spooktacular show at the children's theater. They had a blast!

There is nothing glamorous or cute about this picture...except for Claire and Joey. This is my #momlife. I love it.

Joey FINALLY rolled over!!! Yay!!

Ok, this is the single greatest picture I have ever gotten of any of our children. I only snapped the picture because I figured it would be the last of Joseph's sink-baths, since he's getting so big. He totally struck this pose of his own doing, and I just died laughing!! This boy is too much!

We got to be a part of Taija's baptism this month. In fact, since Danny is a bishop he was able to preside. It was such a neat evening, and it meant we got to spend some time hanging with our good friends, the Robisons! We love that they are living so much closer now!

The kindergarten costume parade. My handsome Johnny is so much bigger than the other kids!!

He was so excited to have me there...but not nearly as excited as he was to show off his baby brother. :)

This kid has learned how to hold his own bottle. Every milestone simultaneously makes me delighted and breaks my heart. He's growing up so fast!

The Martins threw an awesome Halloween party this year!

We might just have to throw a party of our own next Halloween. :)

Halloween!

We started off Halloween on Saturday night...with donuts. We have been wanting to try donuts for a long time, and this seemed like a good occasion to justify the effort and calories. :) We decided to give old-fashioned chocolate sour cream donuts a try. They were good! We have some practice to acquire, but our first foray into the world of donuts was definitely encouraging. And delicious!

Halloween was on a Monday this year, and the kids didn't have school all day. That never seemed like an awesome idea to me...I think they should have had the day AFTER Halloween off! :) It did give us plenty of time to get our pumpkins carved and our costumes on, though, so that was nice. While I fed Joseph and got him ready to go, Danny took the kids over to see Great Grandma Call. She loves to see the kids in their costumes, and she always has a piece of candy for them. It's the perfect way to start trick or treats.

Then it was finally time to hit the streets! The kids looked awesome, and it made me so happy to see them all dressed up on the porch. Just missing my Luke. :) Maese even got to come! Joey enjoyed the festivities from his stroller, all cuddled in a blanket. The weather was actually beautiful for the end of October. I love it when we can trick or treat in comfort.

We met up with Claire's best friend Grace a block away from the house. Grace is the youngest in her family, so it's way more fun for her to come with us. We love having her!

And a block after we met Grace we met up with Johnny's best friend (and Grace's cousin) Livi. We had the crew together!! It was all about candy after that...and of course hot chocolate and scones! I love our neighborhood.

We finally called it quits when the kids couldn't stuff any more candy in their buckets! It was a great night, full of friends and candy and chit chat amongst the adults. Joey did awesome, and just took it all in until he fell comfortably asleep. And we were greeted by our happy and well-carved jack o'lanterns glowing on our porch when we got home.

And that was it for Halloween this year! It was our last "first" Halloween, and Danny had a hard time taking Joey out of his adorable Tigger costume. Danny has loved every one of our littles wearing this costume. It's so crazy to leave this whole era of our life behind us! But with how stinking adorable Joey is, at least we are ending on a high note. ;)

Happy Halloween!

Cornbelly's

Danny and his friend from work, Rob, decided it would be fun to take an afternoon and head to Utah County for Utah's Largest Corn Maze! :) It's been two years since we were at Cornbelly's, and we've wanted to go back. It'll always have a special place in our hearts since the breeders who gave us Maese own it, and that's where we picked up out sweet puppy.

We had an awesome time! The weather was perfect, if a little warm. We enjoyed games, and pig races, and of course some yummy food. Johnny and Danny even played a giant game of chess! The kids loved seeing the Minions during the parade (they always make us think of our Lukey), but the highlight of the day was running into Cosmo. It was a perfect fall afternoon with friends!
