It's a Call family thing. Everyone knows that the 24th of December is Christmas Eve. But did you realize that the 23rd is Christmas Adam? Neither did I, before I became a Call. :)
Now that we've established that important point, let's move on. Danny and I had a bit of Christmas shopping left to do, so the girls stayed with Papa and Grandpa Call for the morning. Danny and I enjoyed a little mini-date, complete with Tastey's doughnuts and gourmet hot chocolate, and got home in time to take the kids to lunch at the Robisons!
We've been really lucky so far. Danny and Justin have been separated on opposite coasts for over a year now. But we've been able to see each other during both Christmases and during the summer, too! We really miss our friends. It was so nice of Justin's parent's to host us all for lunch. We talked and ate, watched the kids play, and then were thoroughly entertained by a little warfare once Scott got home. Turns out that all kids need are some Nerf dart guns and a really fun target! :)
This particular visit was extra special. Johnny and Luke got to meet for the first time! Sophie and Taija are just 2 days apart, and Johnny and Luke are almost exactly 2 months apart. Just like their sisters, and Dads, these two are destined to be BFFs. :)
We are so blessed to have such awesome friends. How often does it work that two guys can be best friends through high school, through missions, and then remain best friends and roommates in college? Add that to the fact that they both marry during the same summer, and their wives become very good friends as well? It's a modern miracle, really. Especially when you know Danny. ;)
