We did a lot of work over Thanksgiving break on the basement...but there was still so much to do! Early in December, Danny's work buddies were gracious enough to come and help him get the baseboards cut and onto the walls. We rewarded their efforts with dinner...they felt well-compensated. :) Then we waited and waited...for December 14th. The day the carpet was installed!
It turned out better than we could have hoped for. And the memory foam pad we paid extra for? Worth every single red cent!!
It took another week or so before we finally got all the furniture out of the garage and back into the basement...but I was glad I waited for the final reveal picture until after Santa came with the TV!!
All those months ago, the night the basement flooded, we were feeling a little picked on. But we never would have done anything with the basement if it hadn't have happened. And we absolutely LOVE it down there. It's our favorite place in the house! Danny and I are excited to get curtains up and hang all our art and pictures up on the wall. But even without those things done, we are SO PLEASED with how it turned out!
Here's to many pizza movie nights, workouts, family parties, and general hanging! :)
