Labor Day

I love Monday holidays.  There's always a moment during Sunday evening that I realize my stomach kind of has a knot in it.  The knot that gets there every Sunday evening when I realize that in a matter of hours the weekend is over and it's back to work in the morning.  But the night before a holiday, there is this blissful moment of realization that indeed, the weekend is not over.  We get another day!

Early Monday morning, we headed over to Apollo Park for the annual Tierra Bonita Ward Labor Day Breakfast.  This was actually the first activity we attended two years ago when we moved in.  That's right.  As of this Labor Day weekend, we've been here for 2 years!  Good times. :)

We had yummy breakfast burritos, and the kids LOVED the park.  They've been needing some serious outdoor play.  Johnny learned how to go down the slide, and I don't think he's ever been happier!

And you just can't beat a good swing.

And no, Danny's not posing.  He's just that good-looking. :)

After the breakfast, we came home and everyone took naps.  We spent the afternoon playing around the house, talking, blogging, watching a little TV.  It was wonderful!  It's been a while that we spent a holiday just kicking back.  It was in this state of relaxation that Danny got back in touch with his inner child.

It was rocket launching time!  Danny got the rocket set up, checked the wind, and armed the ignition.  He was giddy with anticipation. ;)

BLAST OFF!

We finished our day with Family Home Evening at the park and Berry Star for dessert.  What a wonderfully relaxing Labor Day.
