Miniature Golf

Our Family Date night was such a success in March that we had to do it again as soon as possible.  This time, we decided on dinner and an activity instead of a movie.  You can't go wrong with pizza on date night.  It's just the American thing to do!  This time we went with Danny's favorite...the Chicago Style Stuffed Pizza from Papa Murphy's!  It's awesome. :)

After dinner, it was miniature golf.  The weather was beautiful, and our kids have definitely had enough screen time lately.  The kids were stoked, and Danny and I were pretty excited, too.  The last time we miniature golfed at Swan Lakes Golf Course was right after we got engaged.  In fact, I do believe it was the first date we went on after getting engaged.  Which still makes it one of the first dates we ever went on! :)

Honestly, I think the kids would have been happy to run around with their putters and scream like banshees. :)  But we did our best to pull them together and teach them the game of golf.  Well, miniature golf anyway...

Sophie was more interested in any and all interesting photo ops.  Like this one, where she was "Ariel on a rock miniature golfing"...

...or the one where she's, well, I don't know what.  Being Sophie with a putter? :)

Even though the kids were a bit crazy, and really not totally grasping the idea of the game, we did manage to get everyone through all 18 holes.  When we got to the last hole, where you hit your ball anywhere underneath the lighthouse, Claire was so proud of herself for getting the ball in!  It's the little victories, isn't it? :)  I love this girl's positive attitude.

What a fun date night we had!  I can't wait until we are all together for these wonderful nights out.  We miss Lukey so much!  But again, I'm grateful for the help we have with Luke that allows Danny and I to turn our attention to our older kids.  We have pretty awesome kids!
