Christmas Adam

Christmas Adam was a blast this year! I think it's getting more and more fun as the kids get older. :) Grandma Call organized a soup bar for dinner, and it was delicious. And I was so excited to try out my newly acquired trifle dish! I made a cranberry and orange trifle with sugared cranberries on top and it was gorgeous AND delicious!

Instead of a movie this year, Grandma wrapped a box for each grandkid. Inside the box was a game we could all play together. Bar none...this was the funnest and funniest Christmas Adam we've every had!! We raced to make antlers out of balloons and panty hose, race to fill our cups with marshmallows using only chop sticks, decorated edible Rudolphs, played a new dice game called "Tenzi" (a new favorite for our kids), built Papa into a snowman (best game of all!), rolled ping pong balls into cups using tape measures (the trick was getting the angle right), and last but not least passed a cellophane ball of treats. Oh, the stress levels the kids experienced while trying to unwrap that ball to get to some treats before the ball was passed was just hilarious! Grandma out-did herself this year...it was one of the best times we've ever had together as a family!

After games, we switched gears to the more Christmas-ey portion of the evening. We had enough kids to do the nativity this year. Grandma had costumes all ready to go, and Papa narrated. Cutest. Nativity. Ever. :)

Then Great Grandma Lovell, Great Grandma Call, and Claire favored us with a Christmas piano recital. They all did such a wonderful job, and it really invited the Spirit and helped us to remember the reason for all the festivities. Something about Christmas music just touches the soul.

Then it was time for Grandma and Papa to open their Christmas present from all of us kids. After listening to me complain for weeks that I had NO idea what to get his parents for Christmas, Danny gave it some thought and determined there was really only one thing that would make for a meaningful gift to his Mom and Dad. So we got all the other siblings on board, and with Danny and me at the helm, presented the plans for our first ever Call Camp family reunion to be held in July 2018! Mom and Dad were hesitant at first...I think they thought THEY had to plan the reunion. But they got really excited once they realized that we'd take care of all the planning. :) We're all super pumped for July!

The kids also got their Christmas pjs from Grandma, and we took our traditional Christmas Adam kid  pictures. I know I'll say it every year forever more...but I can't believe how fast everyone is growing up!

And with that, we added another Christmas Adam to the books. This was a great one!! The kids are getting to really look forward to this tradition, and they're old enough to really participate and enjoy it for the special night that it is. We feel so fortunate to be s close to family, and to be able to share holiday traditions with both sides of our families. It makes for quite the hectic four days, but every minute it worth it.

Merry Christmas Adam!!
