Vigil Family Fun

In honor of Joey's blessing, the Downs were coming in town for the weekend! Jami came out with the kids on Thursday, June 30th and we welcomed them into town with a delicious dinner at our house. Danny smoked some amazing BBQ chicken (and even "spatchcocked" the chickens), and I made our delicious macaroni salad. We served it all with watermelon and rolls and it was the perfect summer meal! We had Jenny's family and Grandma Candy join us as well and we all enjoyed visiting.

The next day was pretty chill. Jami brought all the kids over in the morning to just hang out at our house. The kids played and then we put on "Anne of Green Gables"...love that movie! We then went to Surf N' Swim for a few hours and let the kids wear themselves out. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Jeff came in from Vienna on Friday evening, and Mark and Megan drove in from Rexburg that night as well. We decided that those of us that could wanted to go to the temple together, and we ended up doing sealings in the Ogden Temple. It was a wonderful experience to be in the temple together as a family, and we had quite the instructive sealer! He taught us the importance of paying attention during the ordinances, and to not let our minds wander as we were in the Lord's University. :)

After the temple, we went back to Grandma Candy's house to visit and BBQ. The kids ran around playing, and the adults visited and napped when and where they could. We ate burgers, sushi, and listened to Brian Regan. And to top it all off, we ended the day with Hokulia Snow Cones!

With Jeff and Jami's family moving to Georgia at the end of the summer, these get-togethers will likely get less frequent. I'm so glad we got to spend this weekend together!!
