It seems like all our our holiday celebrations stretch over days anymore. Valentine's Day was no different this year! Valentine's Day fell on Sunday this year, so that changed things up a bit. Danny stopped on his way home from work on Friday to pick up the kids Valentines, so he gave them to them early. As always, a big treat for Johnny and flowers and chocolate for his girls. :) My flowers were also delivered on Friday, and this year I got tulips! My favorite!!
On Sunday morning, Valentine's Day, the kids made love notes for Dad and we worked on a double batch of Daddy's favorite granola! With a very special addition...Crunchy M&Ms. It was all ready for him when he got home from church, and he loved it.
Monday was President's Day, so we saved our special Valentine's dinner for Monday. That way we had all day to prepare it! We worked together, and it was such a fun way to spend the day. Danny worked on smoking his ribs and making the pie crust for our dessert, and he and Johnny worked on getting our heart-shaped potatoes ready for roasting. The girls and I worked on dipping all the strawberries for the top of chocolate-covered strawberry pie. It was going to be an epic dinner!
We invited Grandma Candy to join us for dinner. We always love when she joins us for these fun dinners! The food turned out incredible, of course. Definitely one of our best Valentine's!
I'm so grateful for my Sweetheart and our amazing children. I have more love to give, and have received more love, than I could have ever dreamed possible. We are so very blessed to have each other forever!
