Grandpa Richard turned 60 this year! Wow! He decided to celebrate the occasion by throwing a party at an aquatic center in Salt Lake. We were, of course, more than delighted to attend!
We met the rest of the local family at the pool. Jenny and Jessie brought their kids, so we were quite the crowd. I expected my Dad to chill out in a chair by the side of the pool, and just enjoy watching the kids play. Boy, was I wrong! Grandpa Richard and Grandma Ruth Ann were in the water for every minute of the two hours we swam, swimming and playing games with the kids. It was so much fun! Everyone enjoyed floating the lazy river, and playing with the splash fountains. John was disappointed that he was too short to slide down the water slide. He kept trying to sneak up to the line! Little dare devil.
After swimming, Grandpa Richard and Grandma Ruth Ann put out lunch. They had reserved the party room, so we had a nice place to eat. There was pizza, turkey wraps, chicken wings, chips, and veggies. And then cupcakes and ice cream for dessert! The kids ate everything up! It was so much fun to eat and visit together.
