Sophie is a handful of surprises. In so many ways, she's taken more effort to parent than Claire. And it wasn't exactly easy to potty train Claire. Take that juicy little fact and add it to my innate loathing of potty training, and one can understand why I've waited so long to potty train her! But when we ran out of her diapers last week, I came to a fork in the road. Pay another $50.00 for diapers she really didn't need anymore, or bite the bullet and train her. Funny how money can persuade even the most stubborn...
So, last Monday was our first day, and she did great! Really, she's been asking (literally asking) to be potty trained for a while. And she has gone in the potty plenty of times. But now she was wearing panties all day and keeping them dry! Mostly, anyway. She maybe had 4 accidents the whole first week. Go figure! I couldn't believe how easy it was.
Then began week two of wearing big-girl panties, and Sophie decided to up the ante. She started staying dry at night! Even without giving up her bottle! After a couple of days of staying dry all night and during nap time, she stopped telling me she needed to go potty all together. She'd just march her cute little potty-trained behind into the bathroom and take care of things herself! I am still in shock, but I think I can pretty much say without any hesitation that SOPHIE-KINS IS POTTY TRAINED!
You are amazing, Sophie! We're so proud of you!!

Way to go Sophie!!!! She is such a big girl!
That is awesome! My mom said that is how she potty trained every one of her kids. She waited until we went to her and said "okay, Im ready." And she never had the drama! So happy for her...and YOU!
