BYU vs Portland State

Football Season is finally here!! We wait all summer for the opening home game, and this year is just happened to be the day after Johnny's birthday. So it was obvious that he was going...but then Danny and I had this crazy idea. If I got a ticket, then we could take BOTH of the boys! It would be Joey's first game, and Johnny was happy to share his birthday game in order to initiate his littlest brother into all thing BYU Football. :)

Johnny wanted JCW's for lunch, and we were hoping to see our boy Michael Alisa broadcasting the pre-game show there. While we waited for Michael to show up, we all enjoyed juicy burgers, amazing fries, and I even went all out and got an Oreo shake! So, so good. And at least the lunch was incredible, because Michael showed up late to his own radio show!! So we didn't get to talk to him, but we snagged a picture. It's kind of what I do. :)

There's nothing quite like the first game of the season. It's all out there...all the hope for an amazing season is intact and the air is electric. I love it! The kids loved it too, soaking in the atmosphere even though it was about a thousand degrees outside.

But seriously. It was SO HOT! And it only got hotter when we got to our seats. Our metal bleacher seats that reflect the glaring heat of the August sun. I was instantly concerned that maybe Joey was a little young to risk heat stroke, even for the love of the game. The poor kid was dripping in sweat! But he was happy! We just love this boy!

Even with the heat, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful day for college football. It was absolutely picturesque. And once our part of the west stand went into the shade, it was quite comfortable! We had so much fun cheering our Cougars to (a rather messy) win, and I loved being there with (almost) all my boys!

Joey was awake for the whole game, cheering and loving every minute of it! Especially the treats from concessions. ;) The minute we got the air conditioning going in the car, he was out like a light. :)

It was a rocky start to the season, but we're excited to see what our Cougars can do with this season!!
