On December 8th, Danny took Claire, Sophie, and Johnny to the annual Irvin Call Christmas Party. Yay! :) Irvin Call is Danny's great-grandpa, I believe. It's always a good time, but the highlight of the party is the special visitor that always arrives for the kids. Santa! This is always our kids' chance to sit on Santa's knee, give a report on their behavior for the year, and let the Big Guy know what they want to see on Christmas morning.
This year, Claire asked for a pink Hello Kitty Bike, with a basket in front for her Hello Kitty plush doll. And a Dream Lite. She was sure to tell Santa that she had been a very good girl.
Sophie had the same idea as Claire, and asked for a pink sparkle Princess bike with a basket in front for her baby Princess doll to ride in. She also wanted a Dream Lite. As to her behavior? Well, she reported that she was as sweet as could be...at least 75% of the time. But she said it with that irresistible smile of hers, so I'm pretty sure Santa only heard the "sweet as could be" part. :)
And Johnny? Well, we were proud that he talked to Santa at all! He figured the guy was okay when Santa handed him a present. :) And since Santa always knows what kids want for Christmas, we didn't worry about Johnny forgetting to tell Santa all about the Spiderman bike he totally wanted.
The kids were so excited to tell me all about their visit with Santa when I saw them later that evening. They could barely stand to wait the two more weeks until Christmas! But wait they did, and very patiently. They weren't about to screw things up! :)
